Young musicians aged 14–24 wanted for live theatre production in Mid Wales

Young Musicians and Singers Wanted for MPYT’s Rumpelstiltskin

Mid Powys Youth Theatre (MPYT) is looking for young singers and musicians aged 14–24 to join its upcoming production of Rumpelstiltskin at Wyeside Arts Centre this November.

Do you Sing? Play an instrument? Act? Or simply fancy trying something completely new?

MPYT is calling on young people aged 14–24 from across Mid Powys to get involved in its upcoming production of Rumpelstiltskin, which will take to the stage at Wyeside Arts Centre from 4–8 November 2026. The company is particularly looking for enthusiastic young musicians to form a live wandering band onstage, but there are plenty of other ways to get involved.

All abilities welcomed!

Rehearsals begin on Tuesday 1 September, with additional rehearsals during half term.

Ralph, MPYT's Artistic Director, says that taking part in a show is hard work – but hugely rewarding:

“If you haven't done an MPYT show before, it's like nothing you've known! It's something you'll talk about for the rest of your lives, a ridiculous amount of fun, new friendships and hard-won pride.”

The production is open to young people aged 14–24. MPYT never auditions. If you're keen – you're in!

Participation costs £60, with bursaries available to ensure that cost isn't a barrier to taking part.
