Digital Media/Film Practitioner Wanted: Lead Creative Schools: Cwmbran REVISED DEADLINE 9th Dec

Nant Celyn primary School in Cwmbran is set to embark on their first Lead Creative Schools scheme. The school has selected two year 4 classes to engage with the project. The school desires a "digital media" focus whether film, animation, radio podcasting or a mixture giving the children a wonderful enriching creative opportunity.

The school want to develop the children's oracy and collaboration skills throughout the project. Also it's desired that the project help leaners develop greater imaginative, collaborative and inquisitive habits of mind. The school Spring theme/concept is "What a wonderful world" which the project could take a number of angles to engage learners as "how our world flourishes" or equally "why our world isn't flourishing in places." The staff desire that the project particularly help develop the following.

• Develop pupil oracy skills – clarity, volume, audience, pace, expression, intonation
• Develop pupil collaboration skills
• Develop pupil ability to understand and express emotions  
• Develop different forms of self-expression through digital media

Year 4 children have said they want the creative practitioner to be inspiring, kind, encouraging and passionate. The staff also feel these qualities are essential as well as being nurturing and supportive.

Overall the creative practitioner will provide teachers with a rich, practice-based professional development opportunity, through direct engagement with them and their learners. You will support teachers on their own creative journey and how that can be carried on beyond the project.

Application Deadline: Monday 28th November at 12pm (REVISED DEADLINE 9th DEC)

Interviews: Friday 2nd Dec (REVISED: To be agreed with practitioner)

Project Planning Day: Friday 9th December (PM) ((REVISED: To be agreed with practitioner)

January - March 2023: Project Delivery (approx 10 days)

Fee: £300 per day / £150 half day
