How comic art supports pupils' acquisition of literacy skills.

This one-day training session will explore the benefits of using comic art in the classroom for engaging pupils in drawing and improving literacy skills through the Expressive Arts.

By the end of the course participants will…

  • have experience of creating a compelling comic character.
  • be able to convey emotion through drawn facial expression.
  • have the skills to draw figures in expressive and dynamic gestures.
  • have confidence to experiment with different comic drawing styles.

Paul Warren has an educational doctorate in Comic Art for improving literacy.

Joshua Morgan is an illustrator, writer, and qualified primary school teacher.
